Ms. Evonne Murillo

I am honored and excited to be a part of Ridgeview Family as the Assistant Principal and look forward to being a part of this great community. I grew up in San Antonio and grew up in the boundaries of Lee High School. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Certified in Criminal Justice) and my Master of Human Sciences (Certified in Suicide Prevention and Domestic Violence) from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. I began my educational career in 2002 and served as a Sociology Teacher and Student Services Counselor. In 2005, I was given the opportunity to obtain my State Board of Education Principal Certification. From 2005- Present, I have served as AP of Student Services, PK3-12 Asst Principal and Principal, Campus & District Testing Coordinator, Campus Data Compliance and Federal Programs Coordinator.

I believe that true academic success is built on emotional well-being. Being able to teach students the skills of self-regulation, empathy, and resilience, gives them the tools to manage stress, stay focused, and collaborate with peers. This strong social- emotional foundation directly boosts student achievement, turning young learners into confident thinkers who are fully prepared to meet high academic standards and thrive in a changing world.

Although I have always been dedicated to my calling to serving young students and young adults, my parents are my world. They raised me in a home built on faith, foundation and support. With my parents’ encouragement, I became the first family member to attend a university and earn both bachelor’s and master’s degrees. I love Mickey Mouse and Disneyland, watching movies and sports, travelling and having family over to have potlucks while playing bingo or Loteria. I am so excited to be joining the Ridgeview Rocket team and look forward to serving you!
